Hampshire Minerals Plan (extracts from Hampshire County Council website)
“After recent public consultation Hampshire Minerals Plan is being prepared by the Minerals and Waste Planning Authority in Hampshire (and part of Wiltshire), Hampshire County Council, Portsmouth and Southampton City Councils and the New Forest National Park Authority.”
….”the contents of the Hampshire Minerals Plan are set out in the Core Strategy and include the following requirements:-
♦Policies and plans for specific sites and locations and 'areas of search' for mineral development including clay,
sand and gravel extraction, wharves and depots.
♦Sites for the manufacture of re-cycled and secondary aggregates and landfill.
♦Safeguarding areas around and including existing and proposed development.
♦Detailed plans showing the Mineral Resources Area, Landfill Potential,
Areas of Search for Strategic Resources (2016 – 2020).
♦Mineral Safeguarding Areas for brick-making clay, sand and gravel.
♦ Buffer Zones around International Designated habitats.”

At the present time the Association understand that it is unlikely that the Brownwich and Chilling sites in Warsash will be included in the list of possible extraction sites.
